Decode

Back when I got into Haflingers, I read everything I could find about them just for fun. One of the things I read was a myth about a mysterious black Haflinger that some people say exist. I thought it would be a pretty cool idea for a manip, and I finally felt up to doing it.

I recoloured the Haflinger to make it black. I debated whether or not to make the mane and tail black as well, but decided against it. Since this is my take on the myth, I imagine that that they would still have their gorgeous blond hair. I also painted the mane and tail. I'm not 100% happy with how that turned out, but still fairly pleased.

I also adjusted the bay's colour a little bit, made him a little darker and browner. Painted on the mane and tail, I like the mane better than the Haflinger's, and I think the tail looks alright. I also did my best to make it look like the bay was standing in the sand. I love how that turned out! It could be better, I guess, but since I still struggle with feet, I'm happy.

My favourite part is the smoke. I am in love with how it turned out. Admit it, that smoke is gorgeous. I also love how the text turned out.
